10 Hottest Peppers on Earth - Part II

Welcome Back!

Habanero pepper

On our previous blog post we reviewed some of earth's most hottest peppers - numbering them from 10 to 6 according to their Scoville heat units spiciness level.

Here are the next 5 Hottest Peppers on Earth:

  1. Trinidad Scorpion "Butch T" - 1,463,700 SHU

The Trinidad Scorpion Butch T is a previous Guinness World Record Holder (2011) from Australia. Named after its creator, Butch Taylor, and due to the scorpion stinger found at the tip of the pepper.

The burn from this pepper is insane, but other peppers have been proven to be hotter.

  1. 7 Pot Primo - 1,469,000 SHU

The 7 Pot Primo has a very distinctive long skinny "tail”. It was created by horticulturist Troy Primeaux.

His long stinger is its "Trademark" and many have tried to replicate it by breeding their own verities with the Primo.

Just by looking at this pepper you can see it's going to taste insanely hot. It is often mistaken for the Carolina Reaper by its looks.

  1. 7 Pot Douglah - 1,853,936 SHU

AKA Chocolate 7 Pod or the 7 Pot Brown, the 7 Pot Douglah is know as the hottest pepper you can find which isn't red. It's also widely thought as the hottest peppers with the best flavor.

It's colored brown, unlike most of the hottest peppers out there, and is extremely HOT!

       2. Trinidad Moruga Scorpion - 2,009,231 SHU

Some say this pepper breed has arrived straight from HELL :E, the Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Blend, AKA Moruga Scorpion, is considered pretty rare and was only just recently discovered.

They say that once you take a bite of this rare, burning pepper, the heat just keeps on building and never stops :O

It is native to the lands of Moruga in Trinidad and Tobago and it is almost as hot as the Carolina Reaper, but you probably won't tell the difference :)

AND THE WINNER IS!!! - THE HOTTEST PEPPER CURRENTLY KNOWN TO MAN - THE CAROLINA REAPER.

  1. Carolina Reaper - 2,200,000 SHU

After beating itself year after year for the title of the HEAVY WEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION of the HOTTEST CHILI PEPPERS ON EARTH, the Carolina Reaper is once again officially the Worlds Hottest Pepper.

Originally ranked as world's hottest pepper in 2013, the Reaper was tested again in 2018 and was found to be even higher in SHU. With an average of 1,641,000 SHU and peaks at 2.2 Million SHU, it's no doubt the hottest pepper out there.

Just for some perspective, this means that the Carolina Reaper pepper is 200x hotter than a Jalapeno

Just by looking at the Carolina Reaper Pepper, you know it's one mean pepper. Each of the Carolina Reaper pods are different and it has a unique stinger tail that is very distinctive and unlike any other pepper. Peppers cultivators are constantly trying to replicate it to their own breeds.

It produces its insane heat from being a blend of the Ghost Pepper and a Red Habanero. People that are eating the Reaper are saying that it's not just INSANELY HOT, but has an excellent fruity flavor to it.

Well, that is if you even get a chance to taste anything again after trying this..
